Questions about duct repair and sealing
Is duct tape fine?
No. It dries out and falls off within a couple of years. We use mastic and metal-backed tape.
Do you replace ductwork?
Yes, sections or whole systems when they are undersized or beyond sealing.
How much air is a normal system losing?
Older homes routinely test at 20% to 30% leakage. After sealing we aim for under 10%.
